Good news from Steve. I like the extra layer of protection against fraud.

I cannot hit curveball. Straightball I hit it very much. Curveball, bats are afraid.

At what point does it make sense to get wrapped boxes rewrapped? I assume there is a sort of matrix with generation of wrap and value of box.

If you plan to sell, it may be a worthwhile consideration, depending on your standing in the hobby. As a collector, I'm content with my previously wrapped boxes as I know they are 100% legit but this new enhancement is an overall positive one going forward given the escalating values of unopened product.

Awesome news, although I thought the shot at 1988 Donruss was unnecessary and insensitive :D .

I would be surprised if newly wrapped get much of a premium. Most collectors don’t care which generation PSA slab the card is in - a few do. On a high dollar box you could negotiate to send to Steve and the buyer can pay for the rewrap if they want the extra security. If Steve won’t rewrap then no deal. As collectors we need to stop paying for the same service multiple times.

  • Anyone know the estimated turnaround for authentication if I drop off in person?

    Hi,
It depends on what you have to get authenticated, and how busy they are.
I was at the Exchange this past May, I was extremely fortunate that our timing was perfect!
I had several Rack Packs wrapped and also gave the BBCE staff a gracious tip.
I hope this helps for you.

OK, fine, but Steve isn't doing this for aesthetics. People are willing to pay far more for a box when Steve claims to have opened the case it was from. I think some of the past, present, and future security features will become similarly attractive.

That's good stuff. When people are faking BBCE 1986 Topps wax boxes you know it's time to make things a lot harder for them.

Fair enough - but I think Steve probably can tell in a few seconds if it was a box they wrapped. PSA charges less for a reholder if someone chooses to get one. Paying the same price again doesn’t make sense to me.
