Was wondering what kind of grade range do y’all think this is, and what kind of value, was thinking it’s worth around $200. Thanks

XF details with slight porosity. /s
I want to ask as well would a grading service slab this.
I usually dont mind porosity or granular surfaces on early copper but that coin is too problematic imo.
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
Metal detecting find.
Definitely
Give me 10 bucks and I'll take it.
I paid $90 I think it’s worth $200. This one sold for $159
It would make a very nice addition to a metal detecting display.
"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"
PASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wouldn't pay $10 for it. Way too far gone.
You got me beat!
I think I can sell mine for some wear around $200 if that one can sell for $159 I’m pretty positive I can sell it.
It's pretty far gone and not for everyone, but someone might rather have this than a problem free AG, and if so, there's your $200. It might do better in a slab that said "XF details", especially since that would serve to authenticate it. Good luck.

Thanks I don’t know if a grading service would slab this?
This one sold on eBay don’t know the exact amount but best offer was taken they were asking $208 but my guess I doubt they took a lot less it’s a coin dealer it seems like, I would rather have a corroded one then this piece of junk.
Save up for a nice, original coin, even if it’s only a solid VG or F. You’ll be glad you did.
the surfaces are so bad on that one I would pass at nearly every level...I used to buy a lot of the 'details' early copper offered on Heritage and GC....this half cent is too far gone for most people. $10 maybe but definitely wouldn't pay more than $25...sorry
I understand you wouldn’t pay more than $25 but there is people that will buy these type of coins even in this bad shape to fill a hole. Rare date only 66,000 minted.
I bought this coin for $90. I feel it’s worth more than that look at the one that sold for $159 awful condition as well. It’s a rare date people will pay money for rare dates even in awful condition.
Do you start these threads to get other opinions or to seek affirmation that you’ve gotten fair or good deals?

You did not get a good deal on this one. Trust us. The surface problems on yours are so bad that most people would prefer the others you claim are lesser.
I asked 2 simple questions what kind of grade and what do y’all think it’s worth, nobody wants to respond to my question and just bicker about a coin that I bought if nobody wants to answer a simple question no problem I will go to another forum and get a answer to a simple question. Not trying to make anybody mad but nobody will answer a simple question. Sometimes I make a bad choice on buying coins but thats my fault and I will deal with it. No problem
You didn’t just ask two questions. You also posted more than once about its rarity and what you feel it’s worth, as in making a case that you’d gotten a good deal on it.
VF details, excessive corrosion, ballpark $100-$150

In my original post, not my following reply’s. Thanks for responding
Also you said it’s worth around $100 to $150 sounds fair to me
I wouldn’t take it if you gave it to me.
Not trying to be funny but RETURN it if possible. If you gave it to me I wouldn’t accept it.

Your coin, like everything, is worth what someone is willing to pay. If, I was desperate and needed an 1811 half cent, I may pay $90 for it. If you like it, that is all that matters. The grade is cull. Cull grade coins are difficult to sell.
Will it grade? If you mean, "will it slab"?, Yes, PCGS or NGC will put it in a "genuine" slab stating "Environmental damage".
Best to stay away from cull type coins. If you save your money for a true vg or better (or even g in this case), you will have a very desirable easy to sell coin.
That coin is way to deteriorated to buy. at least the one other comparsion coin has some brown and at least looks like a half cent withvisible surfaces left, id much rather have that than your example
It would be labeled “corrosion” or more likely “excessive corrosion”, not “environmental damage”.
