Error coin?

Full disclosure: I know precious little about coin collecting, and when one does not know one consults experts (after doing a bit of research). A family member discovered a coin in an old toolbox. I am wondering if it is a mismatched coin (I believe the terminology involves planchets).
The coin is very thin, and looks to be comprised of two different metals. The front of the coin is a 1938 Buffalo nickel, but the back is a wheat-era one cent penny . The gentleman on the front is looking east, but the penny side is tilted southwest. My first instinct was that it was a fake, but then I wondered why anyone would bother doing that.
I took some photos and would welcome any comments!

It not an error. It is a magicians coin where the obverse of an buffalo nickel and the reverse of a wheat penny were ground down and stuck together.

Yup, magicians coin or street hustler. These homemade devices come in lots of flavors. Put it in a 2x2 flip and in your error binder. Peace Roy

Thank you both for your replies. It wasn't the type of magic I was hoping for, but it is what it is!
Still nice to have!
