    So what do the "real" ones look like if these are counterfeits?

    The "buyers" for these cards are not going to be on these forums..... errr, well, other than you!

    We ought to buy them with fake Bitcoin

    Huh? There are tennis and golf card collectors on this forum.

    The coco gauff Wimbledon and Roland garros cards say 'pro net' on the back. There is no such company as Pro net. Someone ripped the name off from 'NETPRO.'

    You said they were counterfeit, not made up.... big difference. In theory even the cards we all collect are "made up", the only difference is that they are licensed and deemed official by the buying public.

    And yes there are collectors of golf and tennis on this board, but most likely intelligent enough to ignore these cards. How about posting about 1985 Topps Michael Jordan Olympic cards ;)

    I'm gonna start making cards under the name Lower Deck, Bottoms and Sandwich!

    agreed. they are not counterfeits. they are aceo/customs.

    and there most certainly are some hardcore golf & tennis card collectors here.

    As others have said, these aren’t counterfeits. A counterfeit is a fake copy of something else. These are custom cards - poorly made, unlicensed, and I hate them. But they’re not fake anything.

    I like how they are listed as "unlimited edition". I think every listing of 1988 - 1990 Donruss Baseball should be required to use the same attribute.

    Lower Deck = Upper Deck
    Bottoms = Topps
    Sandwich = ?

    Strike Out (an opposite of Score) would be a cool name for a baseball card company.

    Unlicensed junk, not counterfeit

  • coolstanleycoolstanley Posts: 2,883 ✭✭✭✭✭

    Not EXACTLY counterfeit, but unlicensed junk for sale made to deceive. People aren't forking out $75 a card just because they look nice lol. They're sending them in to get graded. Gonna be alot of unhappy campers when they come back ungraded.

    you started the thread about the card, didnt know the difference between a counterfeit vs a custom, seemed to be pretty angry about them and said “they’re sending them in to get graded”.

    i took that as code meaning that you sent one in, your sub popped and thats how you found out its not a real card thus starting the thread. i mean, ya even stated that they are paper thin?

    did you inquire about getting it holdered into one of those custom green slabs?

    but yes, psa is taking in subs. only at the $300 level. and packs. still taking packs thank goodness.

    you started the thread about the card, didnt know the difference between a counterfeit vs a custom, seemed to be pretty angry about them and said people were sending them into psa. so when you stated that “they’re sending them in” i just assumed you meant you sent one in, your sub popped and you just found out its not a real card. maybe you can get it in one of the green slabs?

    Nope, I never said people are sending them in to PSA. The many cards that guy has sold, I assume the majority of those buyers are sending them in. To what grading company? I have no idea as there seems to be quite a few choices now since covid.

    And no I would never waste my money sending in that garbage. I rarely send any cards in for grading. I've sent in one sub in the last 10 years.

    Probably he is violating copyrights, but if He or Her use his own photos, is perfect valid.
    Under U.S. law, copyright in a photograph is the property of the person who presses the shutter on the camera — not the person who owns the camera, and not even the person in the photo.

    About a dozen years ago, maybe even further in the past, there was an ebay seller cutting picture/panels from "old-time baseball" magazines (he must have had them by the case), gluing them to a cardboard backing to stiffen up the flimsy paper, and then put them in a top loader with a holographic foil over the top, a real Rube Goldberg attempt to make it look official. He made his own labels, like "Babe Ruth - 60 Hole Runs!", graded the "fantasy" card and would auction them. Various players, like Gehrig, Cobb, Hornsby, etc., etc. Though totally worthless junk, sometimes a Ruth would auction for over $100!!!! And most Gehrigs and Cobbs routinely brought results in the $50 to $100 range.

    On principle, a Babe Ruth card that touts 60 Hole Runs should sell for over $100!!!
