IMHO he had a pretty incredible season stat wise and carried the Nuggets all year while they dealt with numerous injuries. Third player in NBA history to average 26pts, 10reb & 8ass along with Oscar Robertson & Russell Westbrook. His 8.3 assists per game were the second highest average in NBA history by a Center after Wilt’s 8.6apg.
I think Jokic, Steph Curry and Chris Paul were the most deserving and a solid case could be made for each had one of the other two won. Ultimately I think Curry not getting into the playoffs hurt his case and I think the Suns HC Monty Williams winning Coach of the Year kind of hurt Chris Paul’s argument a bit.
