Hola amigos! 1802 8R watcha think?

It's impressively funky looking, 39.1mm, 26.9g, non-magnetic, has a nice silver ring tone but I need some expert advice on authenticity. I've read there's real Reales, vintage and modern fakes. I appreciate some help. Peace Roy

Edge doesn't look good (circles look more like rounded squares, no overlap in design seen on the images), surfaces are grainy but could be die rust, odd fracture under the bust. Even with the correct weight I'm betting it's a GNL Class 2 Counterfeit. You should do a specific gravity test to help approximate the metal composition.

@TwoKopeiki I am glad to hear from you. I think I located the 2 overlaps and they are at opposite ends. See pics below. Studied up on that little factoid. Where can I get the .001gram scale cause I appreciate the SG test. Might as well learn to do that while I'm at it. And I lined up an xrf test this week, looking for a trace of gold, so l also read. Peace Roy

@TwoKopeiki the specific gravity of this coin is 10.34g. Based on the moneditis.com/specific gravity chart, this coin is 90% silver. How'd I do? Peace Roy

With those measurements and overlaps, I'd say likely real, unless your xrf shows no gold trace. In either case, very few others would question authenticity of a properly edged 90% silver 8R, graders included.
