I am not associated with this coin in any way but I guess someone missed out.

There were no bids so the opportunity might come again?
Correct. I was careful not to post about this coin when I saw it two weeks ago. But yes, it very well could be available in a couple of weeks again via GC. 10 people were watching the auction though. Probably people like me out of entertainment value.

It’s already downgraded once. Maybe it will again?

I was watching it originally but didn’t bid back then (final price was fairly reasonable).
Wow, I have a few of these. Guess they're going to GC soon!

That's a nice one!
I just shake my head when I see things like this. A $290 minimum bid on a coin that is one small step removed from the melt bucket. Is this what coin collecting has become?
It’s just one step away from the ultimate lowball!
$290 for that worn out coin is simply absurd! I totally agree with 291fifth on this one.
I like lowballs, and I like toners, but I would not pay such a big premium for that. I actually own similar coins though (that were bought at melt).
That kind of toning on an MS example would be another story though.
