Thurgood Marshall signature — any good?

I found this for sale but noticed the same exact one had been listed and sold (for $95 opening bid) before from the same seller, so I am a little suspicious. Price seems pretty low ($95) so not sure if that’s a red flag or someone just trying to sell quick — most I see are $260-$500 range including those certified by Beckett and PSA in slabs. It looks right at first glance and compared with others so it may be good and the one that sold was a just non paying buyer.

There is another nicer one on a chambers card for $260 but don’t really want to spend that much. $100 is pretty much my max but don’t want to buy a fake. So scary.

I'll take a look at some others later to compare but at first glance I don't love it. Back then they were generous with the chambers cards so I am not sure how many index cards they were signing

I am surprised to hear they have gotten so expensive. Maybe you can get lucky and find a collector who got one years ago and is selling it off.

I never was able to get a Marshall. The farthest back I go is Byron White and one from Harry Blackmun, and Rehnquist.

I saw a few on rrauction that went for around $500 in the last few months. So I guess that’s what they are bringing now. I only started looking for Thurgood Marshall a few months ago so I have no idea how much they were a few years ago. I will wait and keep looking — perhaps prices will go back down after a while.

Pretty cool you got Byron White, Harry Blackmun, and Rehnquist ttm. When I started collecting for the first time in late 2004 Rehnquist had stopped signing ttm.

    Wow!!

The only catch back then was that some of the justices used an autopen sometimes (Rehnquist, White, O'Connor) so I have some real and some not.

I got two letters from Blackmun, one secretarial but thankfully one real.

Looks like no one bid the $95 opening bid. It probably was fake.
