“Excess Print” definition

Can someone tell me what the term “excess print” is supposed to mean. I have seen some eBay listings stating a card is free of “excess print” but I’m a little unclear as to what that term means. I assume it just means there are no ink marks where they are not supposed to be but would like to hear how others define it. Thanks.

45 years in Printing, never heard that phrase, except if I was milking the process. (taking to long)

The Bird Magic rookie card is famous for excess print. The sheets of cards were stacked together while still wet, so the black print from one sheet left "excess print" on the white portions on the front of the other sheet.

Too much juice in the mix.
In other words, scratch that...the action you refer to is called offsetting.
    Rookies !
    Not you,
the quality control or the feeder operator on press.
Ink takes time and no presser to dry.
