Help in identifying colonial spanish 8 reale

8 real- looking for where it was made. Shield is 1562-1598.Any help appreciated

    8 Reales... Potosi. Dates to ca. 1645 by style (upright lions in particular) and what looks to be assayer T.

    I presume you pegged it as Philip II by the the lack of a Portuguese escutcheon. That only matters for Spain proper... it never appeared on New World shield-style cobs save for a singular exception (the rare earliest Colombia pieces - 8R of 1621-22 and 1R of 1625).

    Nice original patina, but might be slightly shaved. What's the weight to the 0.1g?

    Have you an idea to its ive had. Thanks? im good with shipwreck pieces but this is first non shipwreck
