Barbados Rarity: 1976FM Matte Uncirculated Ten Dollars

I really love these Copper Nickel coins for their design and honesty, not to mention rarity. As readers no doubt already know (if they care) the Franklin Mint had some beautiful and elegant designs on coins of their manufacture.
They absolutely struck coins for profit and sold gold and silver coins singly and in sets. They also struck uncirculated sets, but this coin is not from one of those & was packed up and sent off to the Central Bank in Barbados. This coin is struck in Copper nickel.
The Barbados mint sets were struck in matte quality as were all of the Unc. FM coins in 1973 and 1974.
Beginning in 1975 the mint set coins were struck in Proof-like quality, and continued to be up through the last year of issue - perhaps 1983, 1984 sets not confirmed.
In the years 1975-1977 they did strike coins for actual circulation, and these were of matte quality like the older mint sets mentioned. These are scarce to rare, and fewest were struck of the largest coin, ten dollars.
For 1976, 250 pcs. were struck for circulation but after being packaged up likely languished with a few reaching currency and collector channels &. it seems likely many fewer survivors - have not seen or recall this one coming up for sale previously:
Well, just Love coins, period.

THanks, they are getting harder to find now that bullion seems to have taken over and pressed people into "our" niches. BTW, I like your pie fort 1984 10F!
