I still don't understand why people let PayPal connect to their bank account but are paranoid about eBay do the same thing.
Just get a second checking count at your current bank and connect to that. Keep no money in it. It's really not that big of a deal.
While I'm still less than satisfied with Ebay, things change beyond our control and I agree with jmlanzaf(this time), I didn't trust paypal so I got a separate account with very little funds kept in it for paypal and now use it for both paypal and ebay. Be sure NOT to get a guaranteed account overdraft protection on the new account.

Lol. Thanks for the disclaimer. You wouldn't want anyone to think that you've agreed with me more than once.

I don't get it, either. Do people think eBay is just going to take money out of their accounts? What's the upside for eBay? People would certainly notice that, and there are probably more than just a few lawyers who would be happy to dip into eBay's deep pockets with a lawsuit that demonstrated theft from their clients' accounts.
I mean, I could see it if they weren't using paypal. I just don't understand why they trust one and not the other. Especially when they may well have joined Paypal when eBay owned it.

"We’ve stopped sending monthly invoices. Instead, fees are deducted from your available funds. To see all your fees, go to All transactions."
This is a message at the top of payments page. I think it's kind of new. Right above available fund. Click on All Transactions. Takes you to a real nice summary I hadn't seen before.
Smaller sales might see a higher percentage taken out. I think there is a flat fee of like .30 per transaction. Which paypal had too. Then the percentage.
To compare a couple extremes. I had $15 sale. $1.99 taken out. 13.26%. I had a $275 sale. $31.36 taken out. 11.40%. If you take the .30 out of the 1.99, then figure your percentage, 11.27%. For me it's a smaller percentage and similar flat fee compared to the old ebay + paypal.

Well, I have apparently been dodging bullets for quite a while, but eventually one found me. I just tried to list an item and was told that I must sign up for managed payments, and that all transactions must be through my bank account. I'm not at all interested in doing this, so after 23 years of selling on eBay, the party is over. Guess smalltime sellers like me were the last to fall.
So I know BST is good for many things, but what other auction sites are you all using now that eBay is defunct?

I have no issue with eBay "knowing" my bank account info, but I don't want them constantly sending money to and from that account.
