Bank teller informed me that effective now, all cash deposits must be accompanied by a drivers license. Said their new software requires this. Even when the customer is known to the bank. Seems weird. Peace Roy

Their ATMs take cash deposits with just an ATM card...
Reminds me of the urban legend of a genius bank robber who handed the teller a note for all of her cash along with a deposit slip for his account...
It is a growing effort to crack down on money laundering. I also think the IRS probably has some thing to do with it.
They’ll ask for a state issued ID which usually but not always is a driver’s license. States also issue ID cards.
