top loaders or semi rigid card savers

In a little local discussion and I'm told that top loaders are now the "industry standard". What are your thoughts on that ? Ever since I started subbing cards I basically moved to storing everything in card savers, and don't use top loaders for anything. Are modern collectors now using top loaders again due to the bend, thickness, gloss of new cards ? Or am I getting fed bogus info by someone that doesn't want to give up on top loaders ?

I associate top loaders more with the shipping of cards than storage.
I've always used penny sleeves inside top loaders and only use cardsavers when I sub cards for grading. I feel like cardsavers could bend/fold under pressure whereas a top loader is stiff enough to withstand that.
I use pretty much only Card Saver I's to both submit to PSA and for storage...lighter than top loaders and I only stand them in in boxes, so no risk of damage, etc...I just prefer that there is no movement within the holder, so Card Saver is the way to go, penny sleeve or not...
For me, top loaders for storage and card savers for subs.
