RIP Rennie Stennett

As a long time Bucco fan, Rennie was one of the key players of the great Pirates teams of the 70s, the era when I started following baseball. He was having a great career and leading the league in batting in 1977 until a serious broken leg injury derailed his career.
Rest in peace Rennie. 72 is too young!

Long time "immortal" player on a strat-o-matic team i ran for years. RIP.
The game sure has changed since 9-1-71. Cash and Oliver both played out of position, right? Would have been Robertson and Hebner?
Yes, Robertson and Hebner were the starters at those positions. I think Stargell was starting to play first at that time but mostly still OF. '71 was before my time following baseball. Oliver did play first throughout his career, though not sure how many games in '71.
RIP Rennie. Whenever I hear his name I think of this card.
Yeah, I'm the same about the RB card in the '76 set.
That Stennett RB card is always special to me as well. Ripping packs as a 9 year old looking for those mustard color Pirate caps was my focus. I didn't care about Ryan or Aaron or Brett. It was all about getting cards of my team.
Another one gone from the 'WE ARE FAMILY' 79 team. RIP.
I like his 1980 topps card the best.
Terry Bradshaw was AMAZING!!
