  • He's better than Torre. Torre placed most of his team on the roster that wasn't voted in by the fans...........AGAIN! Maybe the fans should vote who coaches.

    I think you're wrong....

6 Yankees made the team, 3 voted, 3 picked by Torre
6 D-Backs going too, ALL 6 picked by Brenly

  • I think the whoe all-star team should be picked by the people, after all it is for us, and we should pick who we want to see in the game.

I disagree. I say if the player is having an awesome season, then they are an "all-star". If they are deserving, then they should be at the game. I don't think it's right for the fans to vote because the fans vote is the "popular" vote.

    For instance...

Say Sammy Sosa is batting .256, with 8 HR's, and 38 RBI's and say someone like Mike Lowell is batting .335 with 18 HR's and 65 RBI's, who would the fans pick? Of course they'd pick Sammy Sosa because he's the "popular" player...but he wouldn't be deserving to be an all-star, but unlike Mike Lowell...he would be having a great season and most of the fans would NOT vote for him because they aren't familiar with him, or he's not a popular player...(Mike Lowell is a very underrated player by the way)...I say DON'T let the fans vote because all it is, is a popularity contest...not a testament of the "true" all-star's that are deserving.

    Just my 2 cents.
  • Mags, is even more underated, he got snubbed.

first off, you really cant compare pitcher with right fielders. I think they should catogorize them and everyone votes who they want to see play at that position, of course it will have a couple of flaws but what doesnt? Its the best way to get us, the fans, see all different kinds of all-stars across the league play each other. I dont want to see a yankees vs. D-Backs (which is what were basically going to see this year in the all-star game)

"ok, of the 3 yankees that torre picked to go to the all-star game (the other 3 were voted), state why you think they shouldnt be going."

Cause i dont want to see a yankees vs. the D-Backs game. Also i know thier are other players out there that deserve the spots more then them.

The managers are obviously playing favorites, it just makes me sick cause good players are not getting the chances they deserve.
