How long would you wait to pay?

Submitted two offers last night, and woke up to find out they were accepted. I then messaged the seller that I wanted to purchase one more card, and he accepted that offer this morning. When I went to pay I noticed that he did not invoice me for the 3 graded cards, so the shipping was about $10 on 3 cards worth about $90. I sent a message to the seller about noon today.
Here is the message.
Thank you for accepting my offers. Waiting for an invoice if you combine shipping, and will pay right away.
Thank you again,
Joe
What do you all think? How long would you wait for an invoice to combine shipping before just paying for the inflated shipping?

I'd wait a couple of days and then send a follow-up message.

Why mess with sellers like this. Buy, pay. no hassle for seller to have to 'save' items for buyers future purchases. Unless advance notice to the seller that you are interested in more items and ask, then buy and pay within a day.

Never purchased anything from this seller before, so I had no idea that they didn't combine shipping. I'll pay the extra $5 for them not combining the shipping, but it is just the principle of paying a reasonable shipping cost for 3 graded cards. I always pay right away, but 99.9% of sellers have sent an invoice combining shipping. Also, I'm not sure what you mean by the seller 'saving' an item? Three offers were made within 12 hours. They were accepted by the seller, and I'm just waiting for the seller to invoice and combine the shipping. If he doesn't combine the shipping I still will honor my commitment to buy from him, because when you commit to buy you buy.

A lower primate can figure out combined shipping on eBay.

These are questions that should be asked before purchasing. You assume he will combine, he might assume since you didn't ask, he doesn't have to.

Both sellers and buyers get too caught up in stuff like this. I would advise you to just pay the full amount and make sure you ask first next time.

Funny thing just happened to me. I bought a few low dollar items from two different sellers. I got one package and was waiting for the other and opened a case on the one that didn't arrive after a couple of weeks. Turns out this seller has two accounts and put everything in one package. He contacted me (seemed kind of irritated that I opened a case) and explained that he sent me the item with the others.

Now I'm kind of pi$$ed. He could have at least let me know what he was doing, although I certainly would have asked for combined shipping. In the end, I decided not to make a big deal out of $4.00. He might have something I need in the future.

I ended up paying the extra shipping cost, because I don't like having a payment due hanging over my head. However, in his ebay description it does talk about combining shipping. Annoying on the principle of it, but I'll get over the $5.

Just send him a message to ask that he refund the extra shipping. Do this all the time when sellers have immediate payment required checked and I can't request an invoice first. The only excuse is if the seller actually ships them separately. Shipping fees are a reimbursement of money, supplies and maybe a little bit of time to ship the item, not free money!

usually a message like “got the cards, id like to be refunded the combined shipping difference you advertised so i can leave positive feedback” does the trick each and every time. 😉

Thank you all for the advice. The seller made it made it right, and combined shipping. Now I can leave them positive feedback. :)

As a seller, I have buyers that purchase and pay for multiple items without waiting for an invoice. Even though in all my listings I state I combine shipping. tis usually occurs during multiple auctions ending around the same time. When that occurs, I immediately send a partial refund on one of the orders to adjust to actual shipping costs. No complaints yet.
