That grass is a hybrid. It's a cross, ah, of Bluegrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, Featherbed Bent, and Northern California Sensemilia. The amazing stuff about this is, that you can play 36 holes on it in the afternoon, take it home and just get stoned to the bejeezus-belt that night on this stuff.
I've never seen Caddyshack, but that's a great scene!
Andy, you HAVE to watch Caddyshack - the whole movie .
One of my top 4-5 comedies - better than Animal House!

EØC - you need my long '43 Steel Cent Planchet Strips to
'gopherize' your Garden !
(just like someone did in Oakland after WWII with them)

Never heard of hardware cloth - is that buried a few feet underground to
prevent gophers digging, or ?

metal 'mesh' is called Cloth !
Anyway, that's what the wife of a SF Mint employee did
with the Steel strips after WWII.

Two of my favorites, in the world of coins.
I'd love to change the world.
But I don't know what to do.

Fred, thank you for another tidbit of numismatic information about the planchet strips
I actually use hardware cloth and have never had a gopher destroy any of the recreational plants.
I would welcome additional Numismatic Advice from you anytime, perhaps this fall
Never heard of hardware cloth - is that buried a few feet underground to

Yes, I make large circles of hardware cloth with a closed bottom and bury them. Plant the plants inside the circle and your good to go.

In the hills of Humboldt County, it's been known for decades that gophers don't like steel, but are actively repelled by zinc
Plus - some exotic terpenes are produced.
@MrEureka I hope you social distanced as you could catch something far worse than Covid-19 from @ColonelJessup
