Why would PSA put an '89 Donruss in a different holder?

I just got a Regular sub back from PSA, and noticed this. First off, this card was a true 10 when I sent it in. I've opened cases of '89 Donruss and this was the best Griffey of the bunch. The bottom left corner had no white, or I wouldn't have paid $50 for grading. But I get the card back with a touched corner and sleeved in a non-fitted slab. What is going on with this? Why isn't it in a normal holder?

Must have been cut a little tall from the factory so they used this type of slab. That would be the logical explanation.

Or they just used it by random chance on that they happened to pick. I have a few in slabs like this which seem like they should fit in a normal one..

I agree, probably too big for a reg holder, those 80's donruss are wildly odd sizes and miscuts within the same packs too.

I think it is possible that some of the new-hires have been a little ruff on pulling the cards from the cardsavers and moving it to other areas. I , too have received cards that somehow show a little white and only got an 8. At least you got a half grade bump.
