NGC 66 (The scratch under the ear and across the chin is on the holder)
This particular Jefferson of course is not old but it is an outstanding beauty.

ANACS called this a proof, I'm not 100% sure it is. It's got nice toning and the surfaces aren't nearly as bad as they look in the photo.

I think you are right to be skeptical, as the date placement is off compared to all other 1862 H10C proofs I've looked at. A pretty coin, in any case!

These are the only two proofs I have dated before 1900. The nickel has a DDR. Notice the doubling on the annulet.
