    Then again . . . the 78 and the 79

I always liked the 78 one.

Actually it is one of my favorites too.
That was the first year I remember opening packs as child.

Same reason I don't own a Bob Uecker rookie

And...the ever popular Willie May Haye...
To be fair, Mays signed his name with the "s" separate from the rest of the signature. The people loading the art would have to set up another block for the "s"...of course they could've just put the signature where it was white and added the "s", too. But, that would've been extra work, Lol

Wow really like Mays’ early signature. So used to his later one. Was not aware of the spacing before the s.

    Tough choice . . . the 63 or the 64

    Then again . . . the 78 and the 79

When they reuse photos for more than one year kills me. They did it to Yaz in his 60 and 61 too....changed the background slightly but couldn't be bothered to get a new photo.

If that grinds your gears don’t look up the 1970 and 1976 Bubba Smith’s.

The multi photos should've been in a "have to" capacity only...man, there are too many of them, Lol

Here is what I hate about the '57 Mantle...no matter what you do to it--it looks off-center. I remember the very first time, at age 11, that I saw a '57 Mantle. It was in a friend's binder his Dad had given him. Most of the cards were actually stuck into a photo album (pre-57 sized) while there were about 5 9-pocket loose sheets that contained pack-fresh '57-'58's, I looked at the Mantle and thought "it looks crooked". It stuck. I never liked the card and resented buying it for my set because it was expensive, Lol :D
I'm not sure I love the Banty Red version, either--but it can appear centered and would have fit in better with the Mays, Snider, Banks, Aaron, etc...

Obviously, the card is NOT graded B)

Reggie looks like Fred Sanford in this one IMO.

Why you got to do Cal like this? It looks like he just got back from a prostate exam.

    I collect Cal Ripken cards, T206, E95, E210, R319.

I like these takes. The Fred Sanford and the prostate exam. Oddly, those captions fit so well :D

Took me awhile to "Find the Punter" in this one. At first I thought the punter was going to make a block until I saw a skinny leg and a floating helmet. What a bad card.

Doesn't quite qualify, but one of today's Throwback Thursday cards channels 1973 photography.

Somewhere in the background (and if you look really hard) is a guy who could skate like the wind and eventually score 708 goals in his career en route to the Hall of Fame. You’ll just have to trust us on this one.
