Yup, I bought the holder(s)......

Taking a little break from the CC Morgan registry odyssey and decided to start a small old holder collection. These are my pick-ups from the last few weeks. Still need to find an NGC 2.1, a white label rattler and the Unobtanium (NGC black holder). Special thanks to @Lakesammman and @DelawareDoons for helping me fill in the cracks:

Nice collection.
I would try to add a Hallmark holder as well, just for good measure.

Awesome collection! Good luck on the white rattler, that’s a toughie. Killer Regency though!
Lakessammman helped me out a while back with a nice doily Morgan! 👍

That's really cool. I've never seen one of those large green pcgs holders. When were those made?
SEGS and PCI sample slabs come up on the market and are inexpensive.

The Regency holders were made in the early to mid-90's. There were a total of around 700 produced, most like mine, for the Danny Kaye collection. There are a couple listed on ebay right now but not within my budget.
Before I started this little trek, I had no idea how many old holders were on the market. I used this coin week article as my GPS, with a couple of exceptions:

Nice cross section of grading history there!
Now, where's the NGC black?

Thanks - the black holder is haunting my dreams (aka nightmares)!
Those PCGS 2.1 slabs with the perforated labels are becoming hard to find too.

I actually had more trouble finding the 2.2's......
Beautiful set . . . . .

I like that the Regency holder houses an Israeli coin. Seems quite appropriate.
Nice work! You have many of the more interesting holders.
I second the Hallmark suggestion (these have actually become less expensive this last year). A PCI, Tulving, Blanchard, and DGS (Dominion) are some others to consider.
If you want one for your bookshelf/desk, a DCGS would be nice too....slab and stand all in one!
Sweet! Throw in a David Hall flip for good measure.
Thanks for the suggestions @U1chicago and @DNADave! Back to the hunt.....
Nice group, that is quite a bit of buying in a short time frame.
My Collection of Old Holders
Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
Thanks @coinbuf. Most of these purchased were very cost effective. And after adding an 1889-CC to my Morgan collection, the cost pales in comparison.
That's a terrific collection of holders. In this case it's okay to buy the holder and not the coin.
Good luck with the rest.

Thanks Donato - heading to a coin show tomorrow. Will update if I find anything interesting.
Good ol’ slabs!

Nice set of slabs and I think some comments on how wrong some of the description and grades are would go a long way in another thread.
