Well shame on you but apparently you have none so maybe you can use some!🙄
ouch. got me. thank you for your concern.
but i am still of the opinion that two people can have differentiating opinions. and that not everyone sees things the same light or even get along. zero names were called (this time) and we both voiced our points of view. big whoop.

actually, i'm glad this thread was started bc i never noticed this when ripping mountains of this stuff back then.
but why in the world would potential canadian entry contestants be asked to submit the answer of this bizzaro math problem?
As I understand it, Canada very strictly regulates games of chance (maybe so much that they are ONLY legal when run by the government) but much more loosely regulates games of "skill".

that actually makes perfect sense. math is a skill. learn something new everyday. thank you!

Trying to decide if a 2018’Chrome Update is worth $500.
how could it not?
Cuz its only 28 cards out if a set of 100. You could easily miss Soto, Acuna or Ohtani.
well, first you're starting w the wrong configuration, imo. the value packs w pink refractors literally carry far more "value". those mega boxes will also render 3-4 international affairs cards which are basically bonk.
you're also missing gleyber, flaherty, soroka, buehler, albies, meadows, bieber, robles from your list. all w multiple cards in the 100 card set, plus the chance to double down w a pink refractor hit.
as you stated, w a small 100 card set and that power house rookie class, you may not hit a home run every time, but not too hard to smack doubles and triples vs striking out. plus, the biggest hit of the product still hasn't surfaced.
True. Thats the upside. A downside is I could buy an Ohtani, Soto, and Acuna all in PSA 10 for about the same as I can buy a box.
but that doesn't scratch the itch the op wants.
overall gem rate for the set is pretty high.
and a soto 10 is $500 by itself. 😉
Yes, but thats why I said “I’m” trying to decide.
but you didnt say "i'm".
and you commented after i suggested '18 chrome, so it could easily be taken as "you're not sure my suggestion makes sense" in someone else's thread, right?
wanna get back to where you could get a soto, ohtani & acuna in a 10 for $500, though?
bc i'll buy everything the guy has...
I swear, some people just like to be argumentative.
If you cant see that “I’m” is implied in the sentence, I don't know what else to say. Obviously, the subject of the sentence is “I’m”
and Soto 9 for $500 and change.
fav part though. you had to downgrade the soto to a 9 and still add "and change"! 😂
“ for about the same as I can buy a box.” I said “about”. $550 is “about” $500.
and for the record "about" or the new figure of "$550" is STILL not even remotely close to being accurate.
taking the lowest price of each, factoring a taxable rate of even 6% we are somewhere close to being around $825 probably. again, this was prior to you downgrading the soto late in the convo down to a 9.
so if me telling you that you were so far off base, it's worth mentioning makes me argumentative, then so be it. you would think when someone is asking for an opinion they might actually listen when someone gives one. i've been dialed in on soto since 2018, so i knew you were dead wrong by his card alone. but, if giving you accurate figures and a solid opinion when you self admittedly asked for one makes me argumentative, then so be it.
you win. now what?
One thing I have to point out and this isn’t against anyone in this post, more so against the person that listed the card for auction/sale. That Soto listed for $500 isn’t a Topps Chrome. The listing says Topps Chrome but the picture is a regular Topps. I hope no one paid $500 for that, although at some point even the regular Topps will be worth more than $500. It’s crazy that Soto’s “flagship” rookie is worth almost 300 more than Acuña’s “flagship” rookie (not counting the “bat down” version). Also in the 2018 update debate, there is the chance of pulling the Soto Gatorade Bath card, which I believe the last one I saw was at $8,000+.
Now as far as what to buy right now, I have found it hard to pull the trigger on buying 2018 cards in the last few months. Yes the chance for a huge return is there but first you have to pull one of the Monsters then cross your fingers it graded a 10. That said, anything Acuña, Soto or Ohtani, in even a 9 will bring good money. I like the post where the guy suggested buying new stuff and holding onto it for a few years with the hopes one of these rookies takes off. Pretty good class of rookies here in 2021 baseball. Some of their cards have yet to be released but maybe in series 2 or chrome and update sets they may be released.
Whichever boxes and packs you decide to go with it will be fun ripping! Good luck!

The point you are missing is you hijacked someone else's thread and turned it into a pissing match. Take your fight to the PM and leave the rest of us out of it. No one wants to read it.🙄

It sounded like my wife and me. 15 rounds, no winners, no belt changed hands.

hi pot! my names the kettle.
These worth buying? There have been boxes on the shelves at our Walmart for days now. But I live in the South, there are always Hockey cards.
Kaprisov young guns raw going for $200.00 right now.
