Grading - “hairs” on the edges

I’m thinking about submitting this 1975 Steve Carlton for grading at a later date, but I’m wondering if it’s worthwhile due to the “hairs” on the edges (or any other issues I’m missing). I wasn’t sure how much it would hurt the grade. If it has no shot at an 8, I won’t bother. Thanks

I think they are a plus and I think its an 8 or better
unlike my salads, i prefer those short & curlies on my cards.
Looks like a nice card to me. Upper left corner probably keeps it out of a 9 holder but it should 8. The "hairs" are common and are referred to as a 'rough cut'. The one on yours is very minor. Sometimes it can look like Don Johnson's beard (Miami Vice, not CU forum Don ) They won't downgrade the card.
Very slight tilt. looks like an 8 . mabe 8.5
Agree. The tilt seems to be common in 1975. Slight tilt (albeit a tad less to my eye) on a 75 Schmidt I currently have in grading. Fingers crossed...
I've seen many and own a few cards that have tilts vary degrees of "worse" than yours in 9 slabs,

concur
The tilt was the first thing I noticed and that worries me. But imo a beautiful card... for that card, absolutely stunning print/focus/registration!
Hairs=Good

practise on a junk card. just lightly run your finger across the edge with grain and agianst grain, sometimes even edge of fingernail. if one doesn't like the look.
Noooo do not do this. Send in as is.
I think Mrpeanut39 calls them a “hanging Chad”
i did it all the time, even resubmitt after getting a grade with hairs, and then resubmitt without. i get same grade, sometimes higher. just to see what happens. it was consistently the same grade, and a few times higher. now when i do it, i get the grade i expect, no qualifiers or rejected as trimmed. so why not do it?
i also iron down the corners with my hot iron set on 2.5 or 3. between two clean pieces of copy paper. and if you think thats wrong to do, you are incorrect. just ask mr orlando. read it years ago in "Taking My Hacks"
