Craziest touchdown pass ever
In a spring game between Villanova and Delaware, Villanova quarterback Daniel Smith threw an insane touchdown pass. Check it out.
Villanova quarterback Daniel Smith isn’t a big name, or a big guy. At 6-foot-0 and 205 pounds, Smith doesn’t present a physically imposing presence, and you won’t find him in too many draft guides despite the fact that he is eligible for the 2021 draft, and he threw 32 touchdowns to 10 interceptions in 2019, his last full season. When you do so against William & Mary (no offense intended, Mike Tomlin), Bucknell, and James Madison (no offense intended, Brandon Staley), the NFL tends to adjust for that.
But it’s safe to say that no quarterback in the 2021 draft class, be he Trevor Lawrence, Justin Fields, Trey Lance, Zach Wilson, or Mac Jones, has pulled off a touchdown pass quite like the one Smith delivered to tight end Charlie Gilroy with 3:15 left in the game, and Villanova down by two touchdowns to Delaware in a spring game.
Smith boots to his right, somersaults his way to the ground, and somehow has the presence of mind to flip the ball in the air, where Gilroy brings it in.

@doubledragon Can you post a different angle and/or slow motion for us here on Sports Talk
Spoiler alert - Wow, i didn't even notice the thrown ball viewing it the first time.
That is the only angle I can find so far, will keep looking.
i captured a still frame just as the ball was leaving his hand
parallel to the ground
facing away from the end zone
only thing touching the ground was his other hand
and as can be seen, no one was open at the time
imagine someone showing you this picture and telling you this dude threw a touchdown
you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet
Is he facing away while throwing it?
yup, he's facing the other end zone
you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet
Yes, thank you @galaxy27, I can't seem to find a video showing a different angle. Every video seems to be just the one angle. You would think they would have got it on video from another angle. It was an insane pass, and it got the attention of one Patrick Mahomes.

This is very frustrating, I cannot find another angle of this play. This is ridiculous, with all the technology we have today, you would think another angle would be available. We can build rockets, put a man on the moon, split the atom, but we can't get another angle for a touchdown pass!
I give up, I can't find another angle to this play. I'm starting to fight with myself, I better just give it up.
That is insane lol. Nice work with that still shot @galaxy27 , literally there was no way I was going to see how exactly the ball was thrown otherwise lol.
I don't know how to post videos on here yet but google "1974 sea of hands" from the 74 AFC championship game. That "pass" from Stabler to Davis was pretty crazy considering it was a trip to the Super Bowl riding on that pass.
