1 year, up to 10 meelyun

he was an epic bust last season with the Titans (and got hurt again), but maybe he'll flourish opposite Myles Garrett. if so, watch out for the Brownies. but thus far, Joe B is right and I'm wrong since he departed from Seattle.

"we shall see."

He was a bust in Seattle, too.

Just doesn't seem like production has matched the hype with Clowney.

I think Clowney has always had a lot of hype but has never really been able to back it up. a lot of that due to injuries

Garrett and Clowney for bookend DE sounds epic but will it be? I doubt it

his best years were when he was paired with Watt, and he was very good then. not #1 overall pick type of expected production, but very good. i suspect that's what the Browns are banking on -- Clowney & Myles feeding off each other and wreaking havoc together.

but although he's only 28, he's an old 28. hurt a lot, multiple surgeries, etc.

i haven't checked the deets, but i assume the contract is incentive-laden

I think it's worth the gamble regardless of what's guaranteed for a year. He's going to get singled a lot with the Browns. Moderate risk with high reward and playing for 2022 contract

He makes a few splash plays every 3 or 4 games. Not worth $10M. But hey, what do I know.

That may be true, but he's not a bust. He still very good.

has Clowney been paired with a DE like Myles Garret in the last 3-4 years?? that's the difference. look at what Olivier Vernon did last year, he was able to shine because of Garret and went down in game 15 with an ankle injury. also, the Browns will pick at 26 and are expected to take a DL or LB with a long shot at CB if by wild chance everyone has been taken. there should be a quality DE available who can share time with both Garret and Clowney, probably situational.

the luxury Cleveland has this Draft is that they can really focus on Defensive picks, especially DB's in rounds 2-7. that's really their primary need.

talk of Clowney as a bust are a little over the top. I would think a more accurate assessment is that he tends to be injury prone. his salary is probably weighted with incentives based on that. if the Browns can get 10-12 good games from him I would expect he'll have an effect on games.

The hype surrounding Clowney the year before he was drafted was gargantuan.

Didn't say he was a bust overall, but he was with Tennessee and Seattle. 3 sacks and 31 tackles in 13 games for Seattle, ZERO sacks and 19 tackles for Tennessee in 8 games.

you learn something new every day. he played a handful of years in Houston and not one single time did i ever hear him called this. yet here it is on the pro football reference site. maybe they added it after his stint with the Titans?

can't decide if it's the best or worst nickname of all time

He's definitely in good shape. 😂

Maybe he will have a breakout season. Wouldn't surprise me.
