    That looks like it was from a "Ripley's Believe It Or Not" newspaper Sunday comic section.

    Actually this image came from Stamps, weekly philatelic magazine, that ran a series of inserts in the early 1930s about "odd" tales of postage stamps. At the time it reflected the diverse nature of stamp collecting.
