NFT, WTF?

Read a couple of articles about digital art and digital trading cards that are brining in crazy amounts of money. Wondering what long-term hobbyists think about this. Trend? Future of trading cards? I don't really understand the whole concept. How do you sell, trade, prevent duplication? Put me in the over 50 club, but I part of the allure of cards is tactile. And, or course, the memories.
