i think he means top loaders, specifically?

as there are a million things defined as "plastic holders"...

correct, but plastic holders in general are way up in prices. When I buy cards savers, I buy them by the case. I didn't see any cases on ebay. This could be the start of storing issues for our cards.

will any of this effect the psa cases, or costs of the grading?

You think everyone send to them in CS1s? Not a chance.

If anyone is looking for some better priced CS1s, I used Cardsharkz semi rigids for my latest submission. Same size as CS1 and I got 200 for about $36 shipped on ebay. They are decent holders, especially since I'm not getting them back from PSA. They seem pretty sturdy - maybe a tiny less clear than CS1, but like I said, I'm not getting them back anyway. Just search cardsharkz 200 to find them on ebay.

The Shellz brand ones are a decent alternative to use for subbing cards too.

I sold off all of my used and abused top loaders at the front end of the pandemic, when they got hot. Was getting upwards of $40 for a medium flat flat rate box filled (seemed to be about 500 would fit on average and I was thrilled to death). I probably have 8-10 of those large bulk Costco computer paper boxes full of the gently used ones I was saving, in case I ever wanted to go back to using them for more cards. Seems like a great time to bust them out when 100 top loaders (new) are selling for $40! 20-21 is going down in history as one of the craziest times in the history of the card hobby.

I collect Steve Garvey, Dodgers and signed cards. Collector since 1978.
