My q, is how rare is this error and to be clear I am not asking about; rim restricted design duplication.

I really don't know the rarity, but unless it's very noticeable, like the quarter in the error-ref example, I think it would be something minor, not a "gotta have" error, but that's just my opinion.

I could also see how things like "vise job" squeeze damage could look like this, so you should post good pics. There are a number of people here, who have significant knowledge of the minting process.
