Well I might as well get right into this.Deep end of the pool without floaties Just looking for things to do with lock down.I found coins .Been picking thru the error states and territories.I am newbie.I found a problem with montana 2011.the art in the middle has detail but on the rim you can only see the last 2 or 3 letters of montana.you have to hit it with a 10x to know its there.
Ihave been thru a lot of coins but have not seen this
Any thoughts ??

As @MsMorrisine said, pictures are needed. Please be aware that there are many, many ways for a coin to become damaged after it left the mint. Members here are very knowledgeable of the minting and die making process, so they can give you an accurate assessment with good pics
It sounds like a struck through grease or a filled die. What happens is a die can become built up with crud and not all details on a coin are visible. The more design that's missing the more interesting they are.
