Inbound Out of Customs

I've had a package in this state for 3 weeks now. Seems as though it's in limbo between customs and the USPS. USPS says they don' t have it yet, and I have no idea how to see if Customs knows its whereabouts. Anyone else seeing this on packages coming through NY?

Yup, last year I bought some little HO scale 1/87 house kits from a seller in Russia, they sat in NY customs for three months and I got them in the summer just after the seller refunded the money which I had to then send back when I got the items.
Is it at JFK ("Jamaica" or Queens or whatever they call it now)?
Usually things move through there quickly - even now. Is it a large "interesting-looking" package? Might have been flagged for a closer look...
