This AYPE So-Called Dollar is a TOP POP 1/1 at NGC MS64 with only a single PL being higher. I'm not 100% sure if a PL should be counted as higher. Only 10 total have been graded by NGC. PCGS has a single HK-362a gilt brass in MS62. It seems like PCGS is adding HK numbers as well. Overall, HK-362 is a R5. It's listed as R6 with it's Shevlin-Hyder number: SH 16-11.
Still, I was surprised to see this sell for $1,009. Someone really wanted this. There were 7 bidders and bidder 3 was at $329.99.
Anyone else surprised or is this the expected price for this?

I saw this medal on eBay and drooled and gnashed my teeth but alas I'm satisfied with my AU-DET medal. There was no way I'd bid over $500. on this - I'm retired.
Funny how I saw this post as I was walking out the door today. Stopped at one of my local shops an hour later...
