Rare Coin: 1913 British Honduras One Cent, surprising source

Good Morning, All!

I got this coin a couple of years ago as I needed a decent example. It is dark with softly struck obverse as is often the case, story to follow:

Closeup:

I got this off of eBay from the reviled seller “Centsles” ( I think that’s right). Anyway, not perfect but the price was right. BTW, some years ago I got lovely coins from him with admittedly optimistic self-slabbed grades.

It's been a long time since we've heard about "centsles", except for examples of grading s that were 50% too high.

Overgraded or not. I’ve bought a few rare things from that guy.

He moves material and doesn’t try for the last nickel in a deal.

Yes, I agree. I think the reverse psychology has been effective on occasion in the past. I got some very scarce Panama proofs (he had one graded at 68 but slabbed PCGS at 64 as an example)....
