Submission question

Trying to learn how to submit coins to our host. I have a pretty good idea on what is needed, however, I would like to submit my Kennedy 50th anniversary set (pictures below) the question is how would I submit it? Would I send it in its OGP or take the coins out and put them in the flips? I feel like the OGP would be much safer. I also have the 1998 two coin set with the matte finish Kennedy that I would like to send it. Same question leave in OGP? And if I were to do that would I just take the RFK coin out and send the rest? Just want to do this right since the wait is already long enough without having to send them multiple times. Thanks!

    A QUICK review of these coins suggests that they are unique to their 'special Mint sets' (SMS).
    Namely:
    ~ "Type 5, Silver, 50th Anniversary, MS&PR" for the 2014 Silver set;
    ~ "Type 1, Silver, SP" for the 1998 Silver set.

    As such, they should not have to be submitted in sealed OGP to get their SMS designation (e.g., 50th Anniversary set).
    See the note below.

    Further, all of the coins in both sets appear to have been issued in Mint capsules.
    Reference #1
    Reference #2

    ASSuming that the above is correct, I would suggest submitting just the encapsulated coins. I have done this in the past with no issues. Just place the capsule inside of a flip, and follow the rest of the packaging guidelines.

    Note - I am not an expert on Kennedy half dollars. So, do NOT open any sealed Mint boxes based on my comment. Do your own research first.

    Send them in the mint capsules and let PCGS know if you want the capsules back.

    Excellent point.

    PCGS does not normally return Mint capsules. If you want them back, you have to specifically ask for them to be returned on your submission form.
