    In the olden days you didn't have to pay ebay fees on the shipping. Now you do, because of situations like this.

    Not sure if state tax is charged on shipping - I think it might not be, so that might be a motivation.

    For me (WI), the amount on which state sales tax is calculated includes the shipping.
