Home Buy, Sell & Trade - Cards & Memorabilia

Auto or any other E-bay sellers, please read.......gotta question.

I've decided to put My 98-99 TSC Co-Signers on E-bay, here they are:

Vince Carter/Mike Bibby
A. Jamison/M. Olokandi
J. Kidd/S. Absur-Rahim (still incomming, waiting on it)

Should I do all three in an auction or should I do them seperate?
Also, should I do a "buy it now" price and an reserve on it>?

All help will be thanked !

  • Vincesanity,

I do a lot of selling on E-bay and I have almost always found that you do better when you run separate auctions....it get's to be too much money for some bidders when you lump the cards together, they tend to want to pay less for a lot, and you may find bidders who only want one of the cards that you are selling.

I always use a BIN because it is only like 5 - 10 cents extra and I have had people on several occasions exercise the BIN at a price I would have never thought I would get. THere are people who just don't want to take the chance on not getting the item.

I prefer to just set a minimum bid that I can live with and not bother with a reserve. I think that some bidders will not bid on items because they have no idea what they would have to pay to get the item. They just figure that the reserve is high and it is a waste of their time to bid.

That's my two cents...hope it helps.

  • Do them separately. Lots tend to sell for less.
  • i agree with the others, sell them one by one and no BIN(unless its a good reasonable price, mostly below Beckett prices)

  • if you use a buy it now....research the last few that have sold of your item and use that as a guide to set your buy it now (if the last few have sold for around $100 the max you should set the buy it now should be around $120) that way youd get a little extra for your item and would more likely get a bin bid as they are not overpaying to much to get it quickly

  • the reserve issue is tough as you lose some bidders with a reserve....as well as lose some bidders with a high opening bid...its a coin toss decision

    Vincesanity,

I agree with goyanks....use a BIN and set it at 10-20% over what you want to get for the card. You would be surprised how many people will pay just a little more to not have to take the chance of getting sniped.

  • okay, thanks to everyone for helping out !
  • Your best option is always to start the auction off with the price of the card what you want to get for it. So if you want at least $100, set it at that. If you get no bidders when the last day comes, you always can change the info in the auction and price and cancel it and it will have only cost you $.30 cents instead of a reserve which if one person bids, you can't change your price.
