Absolutely rotten, so sorry this happened to you.
Will keep a look out and notify
This is getting way out of hand with the USPS.
Truly unfortunate. Buy the insurance people.
Why weren’t these insured?
Please only use Registered Mail. Yes ,it is very slow but it will get there.
I assume they were insured.
Unfortunately in many cases usps deters reasonable insurance costs; their percentages are very high and private insurers like Hugh Wood and Ship and Insure require substantial contracts. I don't know why there are not private insurers offering reasonable alternatives.
I'll watch as well

It should be very hard to fence stolen notes for obvious reasons.
Thanks, It's more useful and effective with the type descriptions. Now we know that we're looking out for $10,000 gold certificates, woodchoppers, 1863 $10 LTs, a $500 and $1 and $2 1918 FRNs, higher grades. Better chance of me remembering and identifying these than the Fr. numbers.
It seems likely that they will turn up sooner or later and it's good that the complaint is filed and word is out. Good luck and thanks to Doug Davis. Please support him and his efforts.

Fantastic news, thanks for sharing
Yeah!!! That's wonderful news. See, 2021 is better than 2020 already.
Recoveries seem to be much more frequent lately and I have to assume that it's the coordinated effort that Doug Davis provides with law enforcement. This board and any other means of getting the word out is quite helpful, too.
Currency is a lot harder to fence than coins in the end with the serial numbers, etc.. On a gold coin that was swiped locally at the library, I filed a police report and went around to pawn and coin shops in the area. One pawn shop owner on the $5 Indian that I had imaged said, "they all look alike to me".
Great news.
Hopefully the first report is also solved.
Very nice to hear. Thanks for updating us.
