eBay - 10 year seller - suddenly weird error message and unable to list items??
Hello to all.. eBay member for 23 years, modest, yet pretty steady seller since 2012.. Around a week ago, I had several listings (trading cards) end and the following day when i went to relist them all, i got this out of the blue and never seen before message in nice hot red letters "Seller requirements not met" and below that continues with the catchy and helpful phrase "Your eBay account does not meet the requirements to sell on eBay. Please review the requirements and update your account before listing on eBay".... So, I contacted customer service?, if you want to call it that and they assured me it was on their end and they were aware of the issue and all should be back in order the following day... Well, it wasnt back in order the following day.. So, fast forward around a week and today i decided to try and create some fresh listings/scans, etc and sprinkle in the ones from last week that didnt sell and get 'em all listed, around 30-40 items for the week.. Life was supposed to be good at this point, however, when I selected all my listings and clicked to list as ive done for nearly 10 years, much to my surprise, the same error messages from last week, I even tried on 3 browsers and all three spit out the same garbage message... So, i called eBay customer service again today and she carried on exactly like the agent from a week ago, almost verbatim saying they are aware of the problem and have had several complaints and she mentioned theyve had open tickets with this problem dating back to December 14.. I told her my issue with listing and these messages just started last week as ive been selling and listing fine for 10 years.. She apologized and said shed put in another ticket to the tech team and email one of the big shots, blah blah blah.. My question is has anyone heard about this issue, encountered it, remedied it, etc.. .Its left me not able to sell on eBay and in turn not able to turn around and purchase cards on ebay as well.. I sure do notice some of the big players on there are still able to crank out their typical 10000 cards a week like clockwork, but when i want to list 3-4 dozen i get ebay squealing they dont know anything, apologies and tickets.. Sorry for the long winded post, quite frustrating and at this point in time they have made one of the cool things in this world, not so cool right now... Thank you in advance to all who reply and thoughts or suggestions.

Is it managed payments related? They've been forcing most of us to do away with Paypal and migrate to eBay's Managed Payments over the past many months.
ETA: If so, you just need to do a bulk modify to change the Payment Option before relisting.
did you happen to ignore the numerous "enroll in ebay managed payments to continue listing" emails and notifications they've sent out over the past 6 months or so?
enroll. give them everything including an anal swab and you'll be good to go in no time. well. sorta.
Thank you for your reply... I was forced into setting up managed payments around a month ago or so and have actually had seamless weekly transfers set to my bank account for over a month now. Not sure if its related with that...
did you hit a certain threshold were they asked you to re-confirm?
i had that happen after i hit about $10k in sales. had to resend everything and log in thru ebay site w my bank user id and password. not a fan.
Blurryface - I appreciate your thoughts about the swab and thoughts, very funny. I was forced to and gave them typical bank info a month+ ago and had seamless transfers each week since then. I only sell couple+ hundred a month so i know i didnt hit that threshold. Im poking around on my own in some settings since eBay doesnt know anything. Thank you.
LarkinCollector - i was poking around all of my draft listings and under Business Policies there are the Payment, Shipping and Return policies, etc... Under Payment Policy mine is showing "PayPal (17 listings)-default"....... These 17 listings are BIN good til canceled, etc.. Anyhow, not sure why it says PayPal - although its always said that as far back as i can remember. Next to it i can View, Create or Edit but i get the following when clicking on any of those..
There was a problem with business policies.
Please try again in a few moments. If that doesn't work, review our help site to learn how to contact Customer Service.
If you want to stop using business policies, you can opt out now.
Im not trying to play customer service here with everyone in this group - I appreciate everyone's thoughts, just trying to get to the bottom of this hoping its simple. . What should it be showing under Payment Policy.. Thank you.
I have received a different error message:
“ to ensure success for our sellers and create a safe marketplace, eBay places various limits on accounts based on the average volume – either items or dollar amount - they sell.
You’ve reached your limit. If you’d like to sell more, call us to discuss the possibility of increasing your limit.”
Anyone know what this is all about?
Had that happen a few times back in the day.....Calling them was a waste of time. If I remember correctly I did nothing and the next time I went to list I exceeded whatever their metric was, and just continued to list with no problems! Think I saw that message twice?
Yeahah!
Neil
when all else fails, clearly browser history, reboot and/or surf in incognito mode.
Had that happen way back, gave them a call, and they upped my limits no problem.
