He is currently listed at 41 years of age, but there's speculation that he's really 44!

The one thing that sticks out in that article is the “Amount of fraud in the DR back in the day is unbelievable” ?? Ummm news flash, there is still an “Unbelievable amount of fraud over there” either way Pujols probably doesn’t even know his real birthday. He has been a good baseball guy so whatever. I say he did PEDS at some point, I don’t follow MLB enough so not sure if what I just said is blasphemy to Pujols worshipers or not or if it’s been reported before but either way I don’t care.

it is blasphemy to Pujols worshipers, but there have been whispers in the past. Jack Clark accused him on a radio talk show a few years ago and the sky about fell.

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

From what I remember, this has been known for some time, and the fabrication of age by foreign born players is not uncommon.

I always like to start my day with a good lie. It's the first thing I do every morning I wake up, even before having coffee, I make sure to lie about something to somebody. Yes sir, there's nothing like a good cup of lie to start my day!

You mean the 6' 200lb 13 year olds from the carribean islands playing in the little league series might be lying about their ages?? I'm in total shock.

Albert went to high school in a suburb of Kansas City and Community College just a couple miles from where I live. It has always been common knowledge here that he was likely much older than his stated age.

At this point it just makes his career MORE impressive, because that means he didn't start until age 24 or 25, and we missed three years from him that would me more similar to his first year, as opposed to three more like has last three.

Yeah, this ain't exactly news. People have been making this allegation about Albert's age for well over a decade.

could explain how Albert started out as quickly as he did if he was actually 25 his rookie year not 21.

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

I dont know maybe the Angels who signed him to that looong term contract ?

  • craig44craig44 Posts: 11,264 ✭✭✭✭✭

if it were ever proven, would the angels have any legal recourse? I am sure they would not have signed a 35 year old to a 10 year contract had they known

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

Fernando Valenzuela still says he's 22.

When he signed that contract, this was speculated by many. I remember discussion about it. Sort of the elephant in the room type of thing.
