    The second medal is a Pope John XXIII (1958-1963) medal featuring the 14 Stations of the Cross on the reverse.

    The first medal is German and is "For Dedication and Skill" or something similar. Unfortunately, it appear to be a rather generic award medal.

    The German medal is interesting... that is not the typical Imperial Eagle seen between roughly the 1888-1919 time frame. Notice the horse... I suspect there is a connection to Westphalia
