For sale here is a kind of holy grail for us collectors of military tokens along with people with even casual interest in the famous island of Alcatraz.

These come up so very infrequently, and when they do they usually find homes rather quickly. This is of course, because of the extreme popularity of Alcatraz in pop culture.
This token comes from the island's time as a US military installation (cica 1900) and was used as a form of commerce in the post exchange by soldiers and their families.
This one is a fairly nice example. Crusty, but with nice eye appeal. Half dollar size, struck in brass.
Last one sold on eBay a few months back for nearly $1200. Opportunity knocks
