PL attempt at PGGS

All I collect at the moment are Trade Dollars. I own two PCGS coins with PL designation. There are only a few that have been designated ( three I think). I picked out two other PL equivalent coins in my collection that are solid enough to get a PL designation. Both were rejected and I'm disappointed. I'll post pics at some point. So both coins would get a PL designation at another TPG. So what to do, cross and get a PL designation or hold as is? Just a rant, comment if you wish.

Pics or it didn't happen
I'm partial to our hosts. But, and I've never done this so I don't know if it will make a difference as well as being expensive, Take them ATS, get the PL designation, then bring them back to the right side of the street. It's either that or hold as is.
If you can get a PL designation ATS do it. At some point in the future the coin will have a much greater sell point with such a designation.
Why is Pl important, worth more as is suggested or more desireable? I am clueless with this characteristic I guess?
Any explanation would be appreciated.
I just did a write up on this for my "book" (someday.....). In the pop of 15k Trade coins graded at PCGS, I think there are 3 coins: 77, 76, 77-s. The other TPG is more generous by about 4x the coins. But both are obviously rarified designations. The coins that I submitted were both 77's. I have two other coins that are on the bubble, a 77-s and a 78-s. I have one other coin that is quite solid but the PCGS criteria is strict of being ms60 or higher (the 76-s is 58). The other limiting criteria is BOTH sides must exhibit the attribute (and that can be hard if the reflectivity depth is biased). So my OP was a rant (getting it out of my system) and now I figure out what to do. The rant aspect is that I two reference PCGS coins to base my submission on and both coins submitted showed equivalent reflectivity to the attributed coins.

Many collectors like PL examples and will pay considerably more for them. So they can be said to be more desirable and as a result, more valuable, too.

If you are looking for PL coins from ATS, you might consider looking at star designated coins that are white.
Why limit the search to only white coins? Toned ones can be PL, too.

It’s too bad that PCGS limits the PL designation to MS coins only.
These two halves are PCGS AU58, actually the top is an AU58 Gold CAC, and the bottom one is an AU58+, but completely prooflike on both sides.
Would love to get the “PL” on the holder for them

Nice!!!!!!!!
Coins that are the on the bubble need to be submitted more then once. I can’t remember who said this here, but they will submit a coin up to four times.
Are you submitting your coins raw?
My sample size is small but I’ve had good luck submitting coins at a show with the grading done while the show is taking place. It’s difficult to do that now but eventually we’ll have that option available.
I would take PL wherever could get one - PCGS or NGC.
Would not give up until both said nay. Once PL would probably price it per Higher CPG / TPG. Then depending on how much room might be BIN / Make Offer. No brainer, PL worth more.
What CPG/TPG pricing are you talking about? I don’t think it even exists for most PL coins, other than Morgan Dollars.

Well no CPG for PL on Trade $. Not to worry....
If no PG data would expand research to auction data, other seller offerings. Ultimately cost plus a start but would research where other players are to develop parameters for my premium calculation so not give away. I am not set in concrete.
No doubt PL worth more than non PL. just a matter how badly does a real buyer want it.
