Anyone ever tried an energy drink?

Has anyone ever tried one of these energy drinks? I've heard they are popular and I know some athletes drink them.

Is it like flavored coffee? Can anyone confirm that it's like flavored coffee?

No it's not like flavored coffee there are many kinds. I have had many but quit them. They bring you up then comes the fall.

Yes you are alert and awake but they are truly not good for you. Spoke to my doctor he said if you need a PHD to understand the ingredients on any drink best not drink them.

I tried Red Bull once and it was mixed with Vodka, I wanted to stay up late since I was at the Casino so I had quite a few of them and When I went to bed around 4AM I was wired for sound. Never again! I see teenagers drinking it and it’s absolutely bizarre to me because when I was teenager I had enough energy to fuel a rocket lol

Some are zero sugar. But like I said it's garbage for you body. If you have any hearth conditions it can't be good on you.

Pretty much. And if you have mental health issues the high comes with a major down so that can't be good either. Like my Doctor told me coffee and milk no need for sugar if you don't like the taste without sugar then stop drinking it simple as that. He is a doctor not me so I listen and act upon it.

Move your body go for walks and eat well and sleep enough hours. You will have more energy in a good way.

Used to but not anymore really. Would maybe have one on the drive to work, have maybe had 3 in the past year and yeah they're junk for you. Worse than a regular soda.

I do drink diet Coke or Pepsi maybe 1-2 per month that is it. Usually when I order pizza. Not often like I said.

I can't speak for any specific doctor, but most of them don't know chit about nutrition.

They don't get paid for prescribing healthy diets, they get paid for prescribing drugs.

Sure some athletes drink them but you have to remember they have doctors that are around almost daily. Any little thing and the doctor will step in and have a look. I doubt they encourage them but they are a reality so the doctor deals with it.

Mine does and I trust him. Most doctors are not going to explain everything in details to patients we would not even understand them. They simply say don't do this or that. Use to get on my nerves but I know now they do know they simply can't waste hours explaining it and most of us would not understand all the science anyways. We are not there to earn a MD degree just there for a few minutes not 15 years of intense university study. It's like computer guys they can't waste hours on end explaining all the math behind the programing. Many fields are like that.

I agree like any profession there are better and worse. But my guess is most doctors are on the better side.

I've probably drank all of them at one time or another if they were around a decade ago, sometimes for fun w/Crown, sometimes for function to pull off the occasional 36-60 hour shift. I might have 2/year these days. 5 Hour Energy is the worst of all of them.

I drink coffee every now and then. My wife has to have it every morning or she's mean to me. Mean and cruel. If we're out of coffee, I fear for my safety!

Just a splash of milk mind you, NO Sugar or cream. I see some people, actually a LOT of people who get a coffee so loaded with sugar and cream it looks like a Vanilla Shake 😝

I remember when I went to Paris France back in 1992 with my grandparents, there was this vendor on the street in front of our hotel everyday, and he had this huge wheelbarrow full of wild cherries. He would stand there and sell wild cherries all day. I watched him for days in fascination and finally decided to buy some. They were delicious.

I have a coworker who told me that when he was working at a previous job,
I think on an oil field crew, they stopped at a convenience store and one of
the crew bought two energy drinks and chugged them and dropped dead.

Very addictive drink. I know from experience. How I got hooked..... I was very tired one afternoon about 4 o'clock in Junction City, Texas. I bought a few of those at a gas station. Next thing I remember I was home 1,200 miles later. Nonstop. I own a soda pop machine at the shop. I kept that machine fully stocked with that drink. The guys at work became dependant on them. I stopped drinking them and stopped putting them in the soda machine after a friend whose 16 year old daughter died after mixing one (or several?) with vodka. I don't recommend them.
