I'm staring at my choices and I don't know what to pick. 😂
I’m gonna say Stidham week one but possibly whichever rookie QB they draft at some point later in the season. With all of the available cap space that they’re expected to have I’d prefer to see BB upgrade the roster depth and especially at the offensive skill positions.

I read that as SF knows that they can fleece Belichick if they decide to move on from Garoppolo and knowing how high BB was on him I could see him overpaying.
If NE decides to draft a QB but don’t want to start him right away I can see BB bringing in Alex Smith to be the interim starter until they feel the kid is ready.

you think they will draft a QB in the first round ? NO that will cost 10 million at least , then they won't play him so they need another guy anyway , trade for Marcus and pay him 20 million plus a redshirt 1st round guy 10? 30 million bucks? They wouldnt pay Brady 25 million?
Why take some fragile stiff like Jimmy G (25 million! for half a season!) Alex smith(10 ?? million for 2 games? )

1st round QB's get guaranteed money MILLIONS and bill aint starting one , and he isn't paying one plus a one or two year mid level free agent

Alex Smith went 5-1 in six starts and almost put up better stats than Newton in half as many games. How many times does Cam need to throw an 8yd bounce-pass before you realize he’s an absolute crap quarterback?
NE signed him because he had one great season that led to an MVP trophy/SB trip and Belichick was hoping to hit lightning in a bottle starting him,problem was Cam was closer to a firefly than lightning.
If you’re so worried about Bobby K’s checkbook then draft some random schmuck in the fifth round and you’ll probably get the same production that Cam gave you a year ago.

I pick ME! There are no decent choices there so they might as well give me the money.
I dont want Alex Smith. Id take Teddy Bridgewater over him 100%
I would too but he’s still under contact with CAR. I only viewed Alex Smith as a caretaker for whoever they decide to draft. I think he could be a more than capable backup and spot starter here & there after coming back from from that injury and he still played good enough to win 5 of 6 starts.
