A Year by the Window (updated for 5/23/21)
So this is an experiment I started a year ago on this date. I purchased a Proof 1961 Roosevelt, no cameo and originally blast white, and decided to set it by a south-facing window to see if and how it tones. For under $4.00, it was neat to see how the coin changed color over the year.

Update..
May 23, 2021. I'm beginning to think that toning colors might be seasonal.

Probably should have saved the Roosie last June. Going quickly toward terminal.
@The_Dinosaur_Man You always left it obverse up? Is the reverse still blast white if that is the case?
I hardly touched the coin once I put it there, so the reverse should still be white

That is so cool.
I like the one from June 11.
Neat! Roosevelt got a tan from the sun.

I have some state quarters still in mint packaging. One set is a light blue ring. The other has two light rainbows. Set them by the shades near a big window. They will head in for grading eventually.

A very interesting experiment!
I agree with others that the outcome went downhill after June.
What happened to the other side?
