My first bond
I was really intrigued by the design of this 1894 bond from the American Bank Note Co. archives. It was created to pay for the Rhode Island's new state house, begun in 1895 and finished in 1904.
Anyone know what style of graphic design you'd say this is? Victorian?
It has a nice early depiction of the future building, designed by McKim, Mead & White, and based on the U.S. Capitol, which itself had been through a major reconstruction that was completed in 1866.

Here's what the new building replaced, built in 1761, now known as the Old State House:
From an 1850s Toppan, Carpenter, Casilear & Co. note from Rhode Island, which I also picked up recently:
Anyone else collect bonds? This is the only one of type I've seen and it really wasn't that expensive.

Wonderful engravings. Congratulations @cinch .
Super nice!
Very cool... not sure what the best answer is to your question... Victorian seems reasonable
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
Yes, I would say Victorian, with lots of guilloche engraved spirographs "One Thousand Dollars" typical of high security bonds/banknotes (right in to the 1960 & 70's).
