Simple PCGS submission question

Okay, I am confused. This is a simple question relating to adding a variety.
- I have a coin in a PCGS holder
- I would like to add the variety to the coin
- Regrade is not required
Does PCGS add a variety without having to regrade, crossover or grade or must one attach a grading fee (even though no regrade is required)?
I thought about "reholder" plus variety fee, but not sure that makes sense.
Straighten me out....thanks, keoj

Yes. Just send it in for Re-holder service + Variety Attribution. That is the way to do it. You can also get it TrueView'ed at the same time.
Then wait a few months for it's return.......

I thought about "reholder" plus variety fee, but not sure that makes sense.
$13 reholder fee + $18 variety attribution fee is correct.
Good luck.
Is the variety a "major" or "minor"? Major varieties, those listed in the Red Book DO NOT have a fee associated for the variety; 55 DDO 1C, 1917/8 5C, 1941/2 10C, etc... I would check Coin Facts to see where your variety is listed under. Here is an example of the 1849/6 H10C;
If your variety is listed with a "FS" # more than likely a fee will be required.
What is your variety you are trying to attribute? If you don't mind disclosing it.

"To add a variety to an already graded PCGS coin, the cost is $18 plus the corresponding reholder fee if the customer is not requesting a grading service level."

The linked page also lists the varieties that PCGS recognizes.
Thank you all. Appreciate the clarification and help!
