Would you buy a share in this type of collectible?
Kobe Bryant fans will soon be able to purchase a tangible piece of the legendary Los Angeles Lakers player’s legacy. Collectibles investment platform Rally acquired a piece of the hardwood Bryant dropped 60 points in the last game of his career before bidding farewell to the Staples Center crowd with the famous “Mamba out!”
The court features the No. 8 and Bryant’s signature and will make **100,000 shares of the asset available **to purchase in early March. Each share will cost $8 with Rally working on multiple ways investors can benefit from owning a piece of the equity beyond showing off a purchase receipt.
“We’ve been experimenting with some augmented reality, virtual reality, and some elements of bringing it to life inside your home or if you’re with a friend to be able to show them from your phone,”

No, and not because I'm against fractional ownership. I just don't see that item being worth more than $20k currently (and even that is likely a generous valuation), so why would anyone pay a 40x+ premium for a fractional stake?
No.
No.
Not interested.
am i reading correctly that valuation is set at $800,000.00?
if so, that is absurd
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
Sorry to say that it seems like an offering for investors that PT Barnum once spoke about.
Except this requires fools x 100k. I'm not sure if PT found that many in his lifetime.
When I went to read the full article, it's a bit bigger "piece" of court than I was picturing @ "a piece of the court around 96-by-50-foot big". This would make me want to own it even less, but probably explains, somewhat, the insane valuation. I'd have to rent someplace to store it.
Might go along well with this Noah's Ark collectible.
It feels like they are scraping the bottom of the barrel to cash in
