Noob - first post after picking up my cards from my parents house

Parents are moving. My Mom called me to say I needed to come over and get my cards. I had forgotten all about them. I have a good amount of 86 Fleer, of course no MJ. I do have a 2nd yr MJ and a rookie Griffey. A few Fleer stickers as well. I'm shocked at the current prices, but I guess I was focused on the stock market and not this market Do I need to try and get all these 86 Fleer graded?

Good thing mom didn't throw in trash.
The card market likes PSA graded esp. MJ.
    Post some closeup photos

Close ups (scanned images are the best) of the Elway, Griffey and Jordan please.

Post some better quality pictures of some of the key cards. Even raw 86’s in marginal condition are going for decent money now.

...and (carefully) get them out of those awful screw downs.

    Free 87 Fleer MJ ASAP

BTW that’s among the nicest “went and got my cards from Mom’s house” set of cards I’ve seen in a while. No junk there.

You probably wouldn't get all the 86 fleer graded unless everything (common wise) looked like a 10 or 9 (and even then some 9 value isn't much). Depending on the condition, any star like the Dominique and bird and Magic would be automatic grading, but at what level would be the question. I'm sure there is a lot of stuff that could be sub'ed at the $12 bulk level.

agreed. You aren't going to retire off of these but you have some nice cards that are worth some money. Not a pile of junk like most people unfortunately find at their mom's house in the basement. Like others said, we would need closer pictures to give you any real advice, but from far I'd say getting the MJ, Bird/Magic 86 Fleer and the Elway graded are good bets.

I cannot hit curveball. Straightball I hit it very much. Curveball, bats are afraid.

Here are completed sales from eBay.
Assuming your fleer BB would grade at NM-MT condition.
It's a good way to check what might have value in your collection.
Also, compare the completed auction with your cards. It is a good way to understand card qualities. Hint: Centering very important

    ETA:
Be very, very careful handling the cards. The more you touch, move, put back in the holder, the more of a chance to damage.
From a distance, looks like you got some nice cards.

They hadn't been touched in 30yrs. I definitely dinged the Stockton rookie and it was absolutely perfect. I cut the corner of the sleeve to help out before I put them in the semi rigid protectors.
